Subject Information Update: NYMEX Futures and Options on CME Globex

This notice addresses additional information regarding the upcoming testing of NYMEX Futures and Options traded on the CME Globex platform and the migration of market data to CME’s Market Data Platform (MDP).

 

In preparation for the listing of 4 NYMEX options contracts (Crude Oil and Natural Gas Options and COMEX Gold and Silver options) on CME Globex on June 24, 2007, as well as the migration of NYMEX market data to CME MDP, testing of NYMEX futures and options market data traded on CME Globex ® will be conducted on Saturday, June 16, 2007, and Saturday, June 23, 2007.  We ask that distributors who have not yet tested do so on June 16 th, reserving June 23rd for any final retesting that may be necessary.

 

To facilitate communications with support staff during the test, we have added a conference bridge number for market data distributors to dial into.  This conference bridge number will be available during testing on both remaining Saturday tests, and ask that distributors call in to confirm connectivity and receipt of market data.  The conference bridge information is:

For RLC Message Users

 

For NYMEX options, CME is introducing variable length strike prices of up to 5 bytes in the Complete Instrument Code field in RLC market data messages.  Currently, CME supports 4-byte fixed strike prices in this field.
